Seed Swap & Giveaway
Mason City Public Library has partnered with Nine Square Feet for a free Seed Swap & Giveaway program to be held in the Mason City Room on Saturday, January 25th, 2025.
The free Seed Giveaway will be held between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Each adult attendee can choose up to 5 free packets of seed and children can pick 2 free seed packets of their own.

You can swap up to 10 packets of your saved seed 1-for-1 with the seed packets at our giveaway!

If you have seeds to SWAP, please come early (between 10:00 a.m. and noon) to swap your seeds before the giveaway program begins.
Seed swapper guidelines:
-Seeds must be collected or dated 2023 or later
-Saved seed should have a germination rate of at least 60%
-Packaged in paper envelopes or plastic baggies, individually labeled
-Suggested quantity is 10-20 larger seeds or 1/4-1/2 teaspoon small seeds
-Label with seed type and variety name (optional: color, height, growth habits)
-Labeled with the year collected
-Labeled with the seed swapper’s first name
