"Make It OK" Mental Health Ambassador Workshop
Learning how to identify and support people facing mental health illnesses is more important than ever. The Chamber Wellness Committee is hosting a Mental Health Workshop from 10:30AM-noon on Thursday, May 14 to help members learn how to "Make It OK." "Make It OK" is a community campaign aimed at reducing stigma by starting conversations and increasing understanding about mental illness.

Local "Make It OK" Ambassadors Connie Blelie and Tom Heiar will lead participants through the mental health ambassador training. Learn about mental illness & stigma, practice scenarios for talking about it, and receive guidance for helping others at the workplace or in the home. Ambassadors will also learn how to give a "Make It OK" presentation that they can take back to their workplace for in-house training.
Lunch is included in registration. Following the training, participants are invited to join in on the Make It OK walk, taking place on the downtown plaza till 12:30PM.
Participation is $20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members and includes instructional materials.
