Building CommUNITY: Understanding the Transient Population
The September Building CommUNITY session is from 10-11AM on Thursday, September 26 at the Commerce Center. The educational presentation will cover understanding North Iowa’s homeless and vulnerable population from a business owner/manager perspective.
Jesse Germundson from Northern Lights Alliance for the Homeless and Nicole Jacobs from Friends of the Family will share insights into best practices for referrals, outreach, and community engagement for the homeless and low-income population in North Iowa.
Gain a deeper understanding of the current homeless and transient population, including the prevalence of mental health, substance abuse, and trauma. Discover practical strategies to support individuals in need and a better understanding of this population as North Iowa community members and business owners.
Leave this seminar equipped with the knowledge of how to help support individuals in need and local non-profit human services organizations in the community.
