Author Talk: Linda McCann
Come to the Mason City Room for an author talk with Linda McCann on her book, "Prohibition in Iowa." Prohibition was the period in U.S. history when it was illegal to manufacture, transport, or sell alcohol in the U.S. This included Iowa. So why then did Iowa farmers begin using their corn to produce liquor? Linda spoke with the children of moonshiners and bootleggers, and shares their memories. She will have items specific to the Mason City area. Linda will have copies of all her books for sale. They are $20 each and she can only take cash or checks.
