Parish Administrator
Position Description Apply at: Parish Administrator - Mason City, IA 50401 - Indeed.com Core Competencies Business/Accounting Expertise – Demonstrates knowledge of accounting practices and bookkeeping; able to direct council treasurer in responsibilities and tasks; appropriately administrates all special funds and accounts. Knowledgeable in workforce tax regulations and requirements. Organizational Skills - Organizes schedules and necessary resources (people, materials, repair professionals, lay leaders, staff, etc.) effectively; consistently prioritizes work in order to meet deadlines; looks for opportunities to make improvement suggestions in broader church operations. Building Administration – Demonstrates basic knowledge of building systems; stays abreast of repair and upkeep needs in coordination with Buildings and Grounds; contacts appropriate contractors and repair technicians in a timely manner. Time Management – Plans appropriately to complete tasks regularly and efficiently; can handle multiple demands with calm and poise; can work independently; completes financial reports, deposits, parish reports and other regular tasks in a timely manner. Problem-solving - Brings positive attitude to situations where problems require solutions; thinks critically to work through difficulties; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks. Interpersonal Skills - Relates well to all kinds of people inside and outside the congregation; builds appropriate rapport; uses diplomacy and tact; maintains close working relationship with pastors, staff and lay leaders. Attention to Detail - Sees small details which can have large impacts; ability to organize schedules and necessary resources (people, materials, repair professionals, lay leaders, staff, etc.) Integrity and Confidentiality - Understands importance of sharing information with church leaders/staff; conducts conversations at a professional level; keeps appropriate confidences; is widely trusted and is seen as direct and truthful. Trinity’s Parish Administrator provides leadership and oversight to the church’s finances and operations; supervises and directs administrative assistants, custodians, and building hosts; serves on the executive staff and is a resource and support to the church council, various committees, and church membership.
