Survey Sunday
Last November Pastor Paul announced to the Session his plans to conclude his time at First Presbyterian as the pastor by the end of 2021. Next year, he would like the congregation to take some time to look in the mirror and get a better understanding of who the are now as a congregation. Then in 2021, he would like the congregation to look out the window, and to think more in terms of the near future and where they see God leading them next.
To help give us some conversation material, Pastor Paul asks members to complete a survey after worship on Sunday, October 20. He will set aside about 20 minutes, pass out the survey, complete it in the pews, and return itbefore the benediction. Responses will be completely anonymous; other than gender and age, there will be no identifying questions.
Honest, thoughtful, prayerful input is vital to the effectiveness of this survey, so I hope you will make every effort to be in worship on October 20. And to answer your question—no, you cannot take it at another time and send it back in. It is the nature of surveys of this type that they need to be completed by those who are in attendance on that one day.
Our church is strong and healthy; we will build on our strengths as we move through this extended time of transition. God has great things in store for this congregation; we will position ourselves to catch that vision and grow into God’s open future.
