Mental Health Workshop - "Make It OK"
Learning how to identify and support people facing mental health illnesses is more important than ever. The Chamber Wellness Committee is hosting a Mental Health Workshop from 10AM-noon on Thursday, April 22 to help members learn how to "Make It OK." "Make It OK" is a community campaign aimed at reducing stigma by starting conversations and increasing understanding about mental illness.
Healthiest State Initiative Executive Director Jami Haberl will lead participants through the "Make It OK" Ambassador training. Learn about mental illness & stigma, practice scenarios for talking about it, and receive guidance for helping others at the workplace or in the home. Ambassadors will also learn how to give a "Make It OK" presentation that they can take back to their workplace for in-house training.
Participation is $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non-members and includes instructional materials. Register at masoncityia.com or by contacting the Chamber at chamber@masoncityia.com | 641.423.5724.
