Learning how to identify and support people facing mental health illnesses is more important than ever. The Chamber's Workforce Committee is hosting a Mental Health Ambassador Workshop from 10:30AM-12:30PM on Thursday, May 14 to help participants learn how to "Make It OK." "Make It OK" is a community campaign aimed at reducing stigma by starting conversations and increasing understanding about mental illness.
Local "Make It OK" Ambassadors Connie Bleile and Tom Heiar will lead participants through the mental health ambassador training. Learn about mental illness & stigma, practice scenarios for talking about it, and receive guidance for helping others at the workplace or in the home.
Lunch is included in the $25 registration fee. Following the training, participants are invited to join in on the Make It OK walk, taking place on the downtown plaza till 12:30PM.
