Annual appreciation event to be held March 22, 2017 at the North Iowa Events Center. Projected attendance: 400-500 people. Ag Breakfast is a yearly event to bring farm and business together for an early morning breakfast served by Chamber Volunteers.
CRISTEN CLARK
This year’s keynote speaker is Cristen Clark, an Iowa farmer and author of the popular blog, Food and Swine. Cristen Clark’s family has been raising soybeans, corn, pigs, and cattle for as long as she can remember. In Clark’s blog she divulges into the topics of family, food, and farming. Clark shares award-winning recipes, stories about her children, and tips about modern day agriculture, to help farmers grow and produce more food by using fewer resources.
SECRETARY BILL NORTHEY
The 2017 Ag Breakfast has a special guest speaker, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey. Secretary Northey is a fourth generation corn and soybean farmer. Northey is committed to telling the story of Iowa’s agriculture! He wants to expand opportunities in renewable energy and promote science and technology to better conserve our air, soil, and water quality. Northey was first elected in 2006, making this his tenth year as the Secretary of Agriculture!
