SUMMARY:DEI Training Session: Understanding Microaggressions
DESCRIPTION:Microaggressions are all those little (and not so little) actions and comments that erode an inclusive and welcoming culture. They are demeaning\, hurtful\, uncomfortable\, and dehumanizing. They are the equivalent of saying: 'you don't belong here'\, 'you are not welcome'\, 'I don't understand or respect you'\, 'you are not my equal'.\n\n\n\nBrian Jones has been working in the Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion field for more than 19 years\, starting at Indiana University where he studied Business Marketing. He currently serves as a Promotions and Events Manager at American Family Insurance. He has previously served on the Commission on Human Rights\, the Board of Directors for Missouri SHRM\, the American Red Cross Board and on the Advisory Board of the Inclusive Impact Institute. His goal is to build a united community\, one conversation at a time.\n\n\n\nJoin us for September's DEI Training session to learn more about microaggressions and the tools needed to develop a program of inclusivity within your organization.
