DESCRIPTION:June's DEI Session is from 1-2PM on Friday\, June 16 and will focus on the Juneteenth Celebration and how employers can mark the holiday beyond taking the day off work. Leading the session is Reverend Abraham Funchess\, Jr.\, Human Rights Director of the City of Waterloo.\n\n\n\nRev. Funchess attended Hampton University in Virginia\, where he majored in Sociology with a minor in Psychology\, and completed a Certified Public Management Course at Drake University. In Waterloo\, Funchess has served as an Executive Director of Christian Community Development and as an Adjunct Professor at Hawkeye Community College. He was appointed to serve as Division Administrator of the Iowa Commission on the Status of African Americans within the Iowa Department of Human Rights during both Governors Vilsack and Culver's administrations.\n\n \n\nIn addition to speaking about Juneteeth and inclusiveness of people of color\, Rev. Funchess will also share information about the MLK Freedom Bus Tour he leads out of Waterloo.
