DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2022 Ag Breakfast featuring Iowa State University Dean of Agriculture and Life Sciences\, Dan Robison!\n\n\n\nDan Robison came to Iowa State from West Virginia University\, where he served\n\n2012-2019 as the dean of the Davis College of Agriculture\, Natural Resources and\n\nDesign. During his tenure\, the Davis College achieved record student enrollment\n\nand retention while adding several new teaching and research facilities\, and\n\nprogrammatic initiatives. Prior to that position\, Robison served on the faculty at\n\nNorth Carolina State University for 16 years\, where he directed the Hardwood\n\nResearch Cooperative working with forest products industries and agencies\n\nacross the South. He completed his tenure at NC State as associate dean of\n\nresearch in the College of Natural Resources\, with responsibilities that also\n\nincluded service\, international and strategic programming. His primary teaching\n\nresponsibilities were courses in forestry and natural resources\, and forest science.\n\nRobison\, a forester and forest entomologist by discipline\, has published and\n\npresented\, and trained graduate students in the areas of forest entomology and\n\npest management\, silviculture of natural hardwoods\, biomass-bioenergy\n\nplantation systems\, agroforestry and clonal forestry. His international experience\n\nincludes spending two years in West Africa as a consultant and volunteer for the\n\nWest Africa Rice Development Association\, African Development Bank and U.S.\n\nPeace Corps and Agency for International Development. He also has done field\n\nwork in countries that include Canada\, Myanmar\, Israel and South Africa.\n\nRobison earned a doctorate in entomology from the University of Wisconsin at\n\nMadison in 1993. He earned a master's degree in silviculture and forest\n\ninfluences in 1986 and a bachelor's degree in forestry in 1982\, both from the State\n\nUniversity of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry-\n\nSyracuse. He was a Fellow of the American Council on Education 2007-2008.\n\n\n\nThe emcee for the 2022 Ag Breakfast is Mark Dorenkamp\, and the invocation will be provided by Pastor Dan Gerriets of Trinity Lutheran Church. Fox Auction Company will provide the door prize.\n\n\n\nAg Breakfast is an annual event to bring farm and business together for an early morning breakfast served by Chamber Volunteers.
