DESCRIPTION:The 82nd North Iowa Band Festival Parade will begin at 10AM on Saturday\, May 29\, 2021. This year's theme is "Banding Together and Marching Forward." \n\n\n\nAWARDS\n\n\n	Grand Marshal Award - For best use of the North Iowa Band Festival theme based on originality\, public appeal\, craftsmanship/artistic quality. 2021 Theme - Banding Together and Marching Forward.\n	Mr. Toot Award - For best use of any theme based on originality\, public appeal\, craftsmanship/artistic quality.\n\nPARADE ENTRY RULES & REGULATIONS\n\n\n	For the safety of the spectators and participants no candy\, printed material or other type of handout may be distributed in the 2021 parade.\n	Entries may not be political in nature or be used to advance any political or social issue.\n	Elected officials currently serving in city\, county\, state\, and national office are permitted to appear in the parade as dignitaries\, and may be identified solely by name and current office.\n	A description of the entry must be included.\n	All animals must have a clean-up crew following them as part of their parade entry.\n	Squirt guns or devices that spray water are prohibited.\n	No semi-trucks/tractors/motorcycles or units making excessive noise are allowed.\n	Any entry deemed in poor taste or offensive to the general public will be eliminated. Keep in mind the North Iowa Band Festival parade is part of a family festival and every unit should be deemed appropriate for this audience.\n	NO PARADE ENTRY CAN EXCEED 11 FEET IN HEIGHT (measured from ground level).\n	Each unit must have an entry form and parade number. Parade entry numbers will be assigned and sent to the contact name on the entry registration. Please share that number with all interested parties in the unit.\n	Parade order is at to the sole discretion of parade organizers.\n	It is the responsibility of each entry to maintain a reasonable pace to eliminate gaps in the flow of the parade. Volunteer parade marshals will be stationed along the parade route to keep the parade moving.\n	Any parade entry with children under the age of 18 must have adult supervision on the float/entry at all times. Adult supervision must be someone other than the driver.\n	Parade marshals are volunteers. Please follow their direction during the parade.\n	All entrants must carry adequate insurance coverage and be driven by a competent\, licensed driver.
