YCMA closed until further notice
Dear YMCA and North Iowa Community family,
First, thank you for your support and care to your neighbors you've shown during this confusing, changing and chaotic time. Your acts of kindness are magnified and show the heart of this community. Thank you!
In accordance with the Governor's proclamation on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020, The Mason City Family YMCA will remained closed to members until further notice. All memberships will be placed on hold, and no dues will be drafted for April 2020. For those who have paid in full, or for a temporary membership, your membership will be extended appropriately when the Y's doors open back up. These decisions were not made in haste or without complications.
This temporary closure of the Y has very real financial consequences for our organization. Staff members are working diligently to deep clean and sanitize our building so it will be ready for your return. We are in communications with other local non-profits, families and organizations to fill needs around the area.
Therefore, we ask that if you are able, please consider a charitable donation to the Y. You will receive a charitable tax receipt from the Y for your contribution. We understand there will be many who are experiencing financial hardships during this time. When we resume operations, we will do our best to serve individuals and families who need assistance.
To assist MercyOne in maintaining the hospital's ability to provide essential services, we are working with MercyOne to provide child care at the Y starting the week of March 23, 2020. The Y, other child care providers, Public Health and MercyOne will be working together to determine capability and capacity. Keeping essential services open and running is crucial for North Iowa, and child care is key during this time.
In the meantime, we hope you are keeping up with the daily workouts we are providing on Facebook, as well as getting to know the Virtual YMCA360 YouTube channel. Please feel free to contact myself or our Membership Director, Stacey Ryal with any questions, concerns or suggestions you may have. We look forward every day to opening our doors again and together working on building healthy mind, body and spirit in us all!
