St John's Episcopal Church virtual worship
Dear Community- In response to calls to help limit the spread COVID-19 virus, tomorrow's worship services (March 15) are suspended. This is in addition to the upcoming two weeks recommended by Bishop Scarfe earlier today.
Therefore, all worship and gatherings planned from 3/15 through 3/29 are canceled.
Tomorrow at 10am, you can view the live stream service at the Washington National Cathedral here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUGZLwnLhUU&feature=youtu.be
Bishop Scarfe will lead online services on 3/22 and 3/29 (more details to come).
Please read Bishop Scarfe's full directive here:
I recognize for some of us, the decision to immediately suspend services may seem hasty or perhaps unnecessary. I sincerely hope that is the case. I also believe we have a responsibility to do our best to protect our neighbors, particularly the most vulnerable among us, and right now, social distancing is part of this.
The sky is not falling, please do not panic. The Holy Spirit is among us and I look forward to discovering how the community of St. John’s may be invited to participate in God’s eternal work over the coming days.
