First United Methodist virtual worship
We have been carefully assessing the situation with COVID-19, and through meetings together with our SPRC and leadership from the Iowa Conference, it has been decided that First United Methodist Church will be suspending face to face worship for the remainder of March.
*Please be aware that this could be extended at any time, due to the recommendations of the CDC.
We understand the dedication many of our congregation have to attending worship, but our care and concern for the health and safety of the most vulnerable, must be considered top priority. Please be aware, our plan so far is to continue with a modified service on KCMR, however that plan is still currently being worked out, and is unknown at this time.
Also, for your safety and the safety of the staff, we ask that you engage with us via telephone rather than coming into the church. While we are open for the time being, we also do not want to encourage unnecessary face to face contact for anyone. We can be reached at 641-423-4905. We appreciate you, and your understanding. We encourage you to continue praying for the country and state and all of the world impacted by not only this virus but the implications and aftermath as well. Thank you everyone and God Bless! - Lori Elbermawy, Christian Administrator
I have created a group, "FUMC Bible study group," for those who would like to participate. Right now we are participating in "The Walk" by Adam Hamilton. I think all you need to do is search for the group and request to join. This next week I will look into setting up a format where we can "gather" virtually for study and fellowship.
